31 7th grade students who were below grade level in reading were identified for the program.

1 6th grader was also chosen who was below grade level in reading.

80% of the Special Education students made a positive gain on the Ed. Performance reading test after being in the Vision Start program.

8 of 10 Special Education students made an average gain of 11.7% after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

10 of 12 male African-Americans showed an average gain of 11.2% on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

9 of 11 female African-Americans showed an average gain of 7.7% on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

2 Hispanic males showed an average gain of 3.5% on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

1 Hispanic female showed a gain of 3.5% on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

3 male Caucasians showed an average gain of 8% on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

1 male bi-racial student showed a .5% gain on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

Overall 26 students showed a positive gain on average of 8.3% on the Ed. Performance test after 2 months in the Vision Start program.

30 students qualified for free or reduced lunch.
